In December 2006, the media reported how construction of tunnels in Minoh mountains caused the Falls to diminish in water surge and thus they rigged the water flow artificially. This fact was a hoax. The Minoh Falls is a natural phenomenon which people have come from all over the world to view until this today.
The truth is the tunnel construction caused water out-flow, as in any tunnel making process would. They brought the water back to a river which is 3.4 kilometers away, not necessarily to increase the waterfall. Whether they bring the water back to the river or not wouldn’t make a difference to the falls.
It’s a shame that some people still think this rumour is true. It all started by the politicians who at that time were against the construction of tunnels in the Minoh mountains.
